About Ms. Day
I grew up in Bettendorf and moved to Iowa City where I received my degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. My educational certifications include Reading (K-8) and Language Arts (K-8). I also received the Teacher Leadership Certificate and focused my professional development on diversity and technology in the classroom. I also received my graduate certification in Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD from Morningside College. I taught 5th grade at Riverdale Heights for five years where I served as the secretary on the PTA board and lead the student running club. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Special Education. This is my first year at Ed White Elementary!
Outside of teaching I enjoy reading, painting, hiking with my dog, and cheering on the Hawkeyes!
